Nagarot is situated in the Bhaktapur District of Nepal. It lies in Bagmati Zone. The scenic beauty of the place makes it a very popular Hiking Route for Tourists. It is located approximately 2000 m above sea level. Nagarkot was an Ancient fort of the Kathmandu valley built to monitor the external activities of other Kingdoms. It became a summer retreat for the royal family before becoming popular as an International Hill Station.

Nagarot commands one of the broadest views of the Himalayas in the Kathmandu valley. It is considered one of the most scenic spots in Bhaktapur District. It is the place known for a Sunrise view of the Himalayas. There are lots of Hiking Opportunities to do in and around the Nagarkot. Nagarkot Eco Trial and Nagarkot panoramic Hiking Trail is the most popular among other Hiking Trail. Nagarkot has been the favorite summer resort of Kings and Maharajas for its cool climate and the scenic beauty around. Rana Priminister Chandra Shumsher who was advised by his physicians to retreat at the Nagarkot built the summer palace called ‘Bhangeri Durbar’. During the Coronation of the late King Birendra in 1975, the road was metalled, so that the royal guests from hundred nations. It could witness the most spectacular sunset and sunrise over the Himalayas, from the best vantage point. Nagarkot offers the panoramic view of giant peaks of Tibet and Nepal including the Mount Everest. Nagarkot offers a perfect panoramic view of the Himalayan Range.  A beautiful hill station, Nagarkot is one of the sought after destinations in Nepal and is terrifically famous as sunrise destination. The incredible sunrise over the Himalaya is another highlight of this place.

Nagarkot is at 2195m and is a quiet and scenic Hilltop. It is about 32 km from Kathmandu valley. It is very popular as a Mountain View Point. One can see the panorama of the Himalayas ranging from the Dhaulagiri in the west to Kanchanjunga in the East including Mount Everest. The other Ranges one will see are the Langtang, Dorje Lakpa and the Gaurishankar Ranges. It offers stunning views of the Himalayas, Green Rolling Hills and Sunrise and Sunset view.

Nagarkot is considered one of the most picturesque spots of Nepal. It is portrayed as a place whose magnificence has enchanted everyone who has ever visited. Nagarkot is a world famous Hill Station with breathtaking sights of the majestic Himalayas, Rising and Falling Hills, Deep Green valley with flourishing pine wood in a charming rural atmosphere. The place is well known for its sunrise view from the snow capped peaks of the Himalayan Range. Nagarkot also offers a panoramic outlook of the Great Kathmandu Valley. Nagarkot view Tower is one of the most popular Tourist Destinations in Nagarkot. It is situated around 2100 metres above sea level and can be Hiked by physically fit Hikers in about one hours. Nagarkot is the place to enjoy the Himalayan Vistas, of course weather permitted, with lots of spectacular Hiking Trails and Beautiful Nature walks.
